If you are a newcomer to the world of computers, then it can be quite daunting. You are not sure what you need to buy, how to set-up the equipment or how to use it. This confusion is enough to put many people getting involved with computers, which is unfortunate, because computers can really make your life easier (and they are fun too!).
So, how can you overcome this problem? One option is to take a course in computing or I.T at your local college or night school. Whilst this is ideal for those that have a lot of free time, most people do not have space in their hectic schedules available to attend these classes.
Even if you do have the time to take a computer course, it can be quite a long, drawn out process. Also, you have to learn about exactly what they want to teach you, which may not be what you want to learn about. As so many people attend these classes, the instructors have to teach about quite general topics, and you no doubt have some specific tasks that you want to use your computer for.
Another option is to have an I.T professional come to your home. They can teach you about home computer installation, home computer set-up and will be able to give you home computer training. Alternatively, if you if you prefer to learn about Macs rather than Windows computers, then they can teach you about home Mac installation, home Mac set-up and can give you home Mac training.
If you want to learn about the hardware and equipment, then they can teach you about that. If you want to learn how to use specific programs (such as Word, Excel, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc.), then they will teach you about that. Basically, whatever you want to specifically learn about, they will able to teach you.
